Official welcome to JanettaRxMa! Thank you for taking the time to visit my page (be sure to Subscribe!) + reading my very FIRST blog post. Being obsessed with lists (like the main character Jane in the Netflix show Jane the Virgin), I thought I would share 10 fun facts about myself. I want this blog to be a conversation where I truly get to know YOU (please leave a comment!). I cannot wait to finally begin this journey with you all – let the fun begin!
- I started this blog when I became a MAMA to my BABY girl (Vienna) in 2019 – who truly inspired me to start JanettaRxMa. She is now 6 years old, where she has a little brother named Roman.
- I have two sisters! My twin sister (Nancy: @nancygeronian) is my best friend and completed her MBA at Carnegie Mellon University while working full-time as a managing consultant for IBM (where she is now at Deloitte) – a true go-getter! My 22 year old little sister (Melanie – I call her “Mimi“: @melaniegeronian) gave me the courage to blog/vlog with her incredible personality that is both warm and hilarious, where she is in law school in Pittsburgh, PA.
- I was a full-time managed care pharmacist on the Clinical Pharmacy Strategies team at Highmark Blue Cross-Blue Shield (hence the “Rx” in JanettaRxMa). I researched new and existing drugs for WORK, so I researched every new diet, work out, and product prior to testing it out!
- I now work for AbbVie, a global pharmaceutical company with over 55,000 employees, where I continue to focus on improving patient outcomes and reducing medical costs across our drug portfolio with a global outreach capability.
- I love to bring out my creative side through modern art, poetry, singing, and DANCING (with my favorite styles being hip-hop and any latin-inspired dance).
- I live in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and moved from the Downtown area to a HOME in the Suburbs of Pittsburgh (Upper St. Clair) in 2018. Go Steelers, Pirates, and Pens!!
- I am 50% Russian, 50% Armenian. I can read and write in Russian and have dreams to visit Armenia, a nation that was first to adopt Christianity.
- I am addicted to FASHION and trying new styles/colors/designers. I like to mix budget-friendly items with high-end items for a complete look.
- I love to try new things – especially when it comes to HEALTH and BEAUTY items! I like exploring unique brands and sharing the products with others.
- My parents (Florena and Armen) flew to America (right before I was born) without knowing the English language and with very little money but with a drive to succeed for their family. I couldn’t be the mama, pharmacist, and blogger I am today without their tough love and support.
